Glitch in Rebuilt Link

We experienced a 40 minute outage in the Hanson to Heppell link that we rebuilt both ends of last week. This appears to be the result of a software glitch and we are working on a patch. We apologize for the disruption of service to the Ripton customers downstream of that link.

Branch Outage Repaired

Around 4:45pm on Wednesday we lost a point-to-point radio link serving a branch of the Ripton network serving about 10 customers. Repair eventually required building two entirely new microwave radios and curing some unexpected routing complications, taking much longer than we forecast. Full connectivity was restored to those customers at around 5:45pm on Thursday. This was an extraordinarily long time for an outage and we apologize to those customers and thank them for their patience.

EMERGENCY SERVER REPAIR COMPLETE

The emergency service we began at 1:00am this morning ran considerably longer than anticipated--it was 6:45 am by the time we restored Internet connectivity. Our repairs were successful, but we sincerely regret any inconvenience the long repair window may have caused any subscribers.

Outage Report

We experienced a total network outage today from approximately 3:30 pm until 4:05pm. This was caused by an upstream feed issue. We will have finalized upstream fiber diversity for the network within the next several weeks, making a recurrence of this event impossible.
Thank you for your patience.

Switch Glitch

At a few minutes after 9pm last evening, we experienced the failure of a small switch in W. Cornwall. This would have caused a lack of connectivity for Valley customers. We were able to replace the unit by about 9:40pm--Ripton customers might have experienced a brief interruption at that time.

Lightning!

The severe lightning storms that moved through Ripton Friday evening appear to have taken out equipment at the Brooks location just below Snow Bowl eliminating service to customers in the Bread Loaf and Reichert Lane area. We will be assessing the damage at first light.

Scheduled Maintenance

After midnight tonight, we will be replacing the backup power unit at the West Cornwall location. This will result in a brief service outage to all subscribers. Work will begin at 12:30am and is expected to last no longer than 15 minutes.

If you find yourself unable to access the Internet any time after 1:00am Wednesday morning, please reboot your radio, router and computer in order and try again. If you continue to have a problem, call 382-8700 and let us know, and we will call you back to assist as soon as possible.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Han-Bied Link Glitch

We experienced a brief outage on a leg of the Ripton network this morning. Once again this was a failure in the Han-Bied wireless link. It now appears that this recurring problem is related to grid power issues at the Bied end. We are configuring a significantly more robust battery and inverter backup for that location immediately and will have it in place by the end of the day tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.
